Honor Roll & Recognition

Alana made the District Honor Roll for the first trimester of school this year (we are well into the second trimester already, but she is doing so well, I'm sure she will get it again). We are so proud of her and make sure to attend the assembly that the school puts on for all 3rd-6th graders to recognize them and their hard work.

I have said before that we just adore our school, the principal and staff there. This year has been so wonderful as we have gotten to know some more of the staff, had opportunities to serve (me in the class, Tim by donating time and spare parts to the school for classroom computers) and have been able to have more one on one chats with the kid's teachers via email and conferences. I really love how this school makes the kids and their families so much of a priority and how you really can tell how much each staff member truly cares about and loves each student.

So we showed up for Alana's Honor Roll Assembly. Shortly after I got there the kids started filing in. This is Alana's 4th grade class.

 Mr. Looper then calls each student's name (by class) if they made the Honor Roll or not (by this time the students already know if they made Honor Roll or not, so it's not a huge surprise). Here's all of the kids in Alana's class that made the Honor Roll. Some of them even made the Principal's Honor Roll (all A's)! (Alana had all A's and a B+, so she just missed it)

This next picture is recognizing the kids that help out with the student valet in the morning. Mr. Looper calls the kids names and announces how many days they served. You can only do student valet if you are 4th grade or higher and Alana has been so eager to be able to finally do this! (student valets stand in front of the school opening car doors for parents dropping their kids off in the morning. It helps the traffic flow through the parking lot much faster) Rain or shine the kids are out there helping out! They are all so happy to do it! Alana helped for 17 days in the first trimester.

This last picture is a couple days after the Honor Roll assembly after Alana's teacher handed out their certificates.
