With scouts, Brayden gets to participate win some fun stuff. Twilight camp during the summer, pinewood derby at the beginning of the year and the rain gutter regatta (to name a few). This post is all about Brayden's first rain gutter regatta.
The evening started out with awards at the monthly pack meeting.
Here, Brayden is receiving an award from attending and having scouts during the summer. Apparently a lot of packs don't do scouts during the summer, so its pretty special that he does, so he got an award for participating all summer long.
After all of the scouts got their awards we headed outside to the rain gutters to race. Brayden didn't spend much time decorating his boat, but oh well. He's a simple kind of kid, and I'm okay with that.
Each scout got a chance to race against each other. The idea is that they use their own air to move the boat along the rain gutter. Its pretty funny to watch them blow with all their might.

Such a fun tradition for the boys to do together. I love that cub scouts not only helps prepare the boys to be men, but they do fun things like this.
